# Albanian taxpayer identification number (NIPT) (`al_nipt`)

Numri i Identifikimit për Personin e Tatueshëm (NIPT, also NUIS), the tax number that Albania gives to businesses and individuals. It has ten characters: a letter, eight digits and a final letter. The leading characters encode the registration date, or the birth date of an individual. The check letter algorithm is not published.
