# Bitcoin Cash address (CashAddr) (`bitcoin_cash_address`)

Address of Bitcoin Cash in the CashAddr format: the network prefix bitcoincash (it may be omitted), a colon and a Base32 payload with a version byte, the hash and a 40-bit BCH-code checksum. With a 160-bit hash the payload has 42 characters and starts with q (P2PKH) or p (P2SH). Lower case is preferred and upper case is allowed, never mixed. Addresses with longer hashes, testnet prefixes (bchtest, bchreg) and legacy Base58 addresses, which look like Bitcoin's, are not matched.
