# Elevation above sea level (`elevation`)

Height of a place, such as a mountain summit, a town or a weather station, above mean sea level. Datasets store it as a number in metres or feet, sometimes with the unit after the number. Places below sea level have negative values. Schema.org reads a number without a unit as metres.
