# EU Combined Nomenclature (CN) code (`eu_cn_code`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Eight-digit goods code of the Combined Nomenclature, the goods classification of the European Union for its common customs tariff and its foreign trade statistics. The CN is Annex I to Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 and is updated every year. The first six digits are the HS subheading (hs_code) and the last two are EU subdivisions. The official text groups the digits as 1806 10 15; databases often write them without spaces. TARIC codes (eu_taric_code) add two more digits.
