# Keyword (`keyword`)

A short word or phrase that describes the topic of a resource, such as a document, dataset or web page, and is used to find and group such resources. Keywords can be free-form tags or terms from a controlled vocabulary. One field often holds several keywords separated by commas or semicolons. Semantic MediaWiki has a Keyword datatype for these values; it limits their length and matches them case- and diacritic-insensitively.
