# Mobile network code (MNC) (`mobile_network_code`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Two- or three-digit code of ITU-T Recommendation E.212 that identifies a mobile network within its mobile country code (mobile_country_code). The number of digits is significant, so 01 and 001 are different codes; the same MNC means different networks under different country codes.

- Personal data (PII): no
- Categories: Telecommunications (telecom)
- Countries: global
- Languages: Common to most languages (common)
- Classification: categorical

## Detection

Regular expression (Python `re`):

```
^\d{2,3}$
```

## Examples

- `150` — Three-digit MNC, used with MCC 310 (United States)
- `00` — Two-digit MNC, used with MCC 460 (China)
- `1500` (invalid example) — Four digits, too long

## Translations
