# Malaysian identity card number (NRIC) (`my_nric`)

National Registration Identity Card number (MyKad number) of Malaysian citizens and permanent residents. It has twelve digits: the date of birth (YYMMDD), a 2-digit birth place code and four digits, the last of which is odd for males and even for females. It is often written with hyphens after the sixth and eighth digits.
