# US Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) (`us_eccn`)

Code of an item on the Commerce Control List of the US Export Administration Regulations. It has five characters: a digit for one of the ten categories, a letter from A to E for the product group, and three digits. The ECCN decides whether exporting the item needs a license. Items that are subject to the regulations but not listed are designated EAR99. Paragraph references such as .a.1 after the ECCN are not covered by the regexp.
