# XRP Ledger address (`xrp_address`)

Classic address of an XRP Ledger account: an account ID with a 4-byte checksum, encoded with the XRP Ledger's own Base58 alphabet (rpshnaf39wBUDNEGHJKLM4PQRST7VWXYZ2bcdeCg65jkm8oFqi1tuvAxyz). It starts with r and has 25 to 35 characters. The alphabet differs from Bitcoin's, so the Bitcoin Base58Check algorithm does not verify it. X-addresses, which also encode a destination tag, are not matched.
