# qddate (`qddate`)

Python library by Ivan Begtin that finds and parses dates written in many notations without being told the format. Version 1.1.0 has 151 date patterns, each with a key such as dt:date:date_2 - numeric dates with dots, slashes, hyphens or no separator, dates with a month name in 15 languages, and Chinese, Japanese and Korean dates with year, month and day units - plus generated variants with a time before or after the date. Metacrafter uses it to detect date columns and reports the key of the matching pattern as the format of the match. The registry records of these notations carry the pattern keys in mappings.qddate; this list is derived from them. Released under the BSD 3-Clause license.
