# Alteryx Woodwork (`woodwork`)

Woodwork is an open source Python library from Alteryx that adds typing metadata to pandas DataFrames: a logical type and semantic tags for each column. It infers some logical types from the values, including EmailAddress, URL, PhoneNumber, PostalCode, IPAddress, Datetime and Boolean, and validates email, URL and phone values with configurable regular expressions; other types, such as Address, CountryCode or LatLong, are set by the user. Version 0.31.0 defines 26 logical types in woodwork/logical_types.py, and woodwork.list_logical_types() lists them.
