Abbreviation of one of the 16 principal points of the compass, from N through NNE, NE and ENE to NNW, each 22.5 degrees apart. Weather observations and forecasts use it for wind direction, and geographic data for orientation. Values in degrees and 32-point names such as NbE are not covered.
