Code of an institute (genebank, research station, herbarium) in WIEWS, the World Information and Early Warning System on plant genetic resources of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. It is the ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code of the institute's country and a number, as in COL001, and is used as INSTCODE and DONORCODE in Multi-Crop Passport Descriptors (MCPD) of genebank accessions. Codes with obsolete country codes stay in use.
