Meter Point Reference Number, also called the M number, which identifies a gas supply meter point in Great Britain. The gas transporter allocates it and Xoserve holds it in UK Link. National Grid documents it as 10 digits, the last two being check digits whose algorithm is not published. Suppliers also report shorter legacy numbers, which the regexp does not cover.
