# GTFS stop location type (`gtfs_location_type`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Value of the location_type field of a GTFS stops.txt file, which tells what kind of place a row describes: 0 or empty for a stop or platform, 1 for a station, 2 for a station entrance or exit, 3 for a generic node inside a station and 4 for a boarding area. The values only mean this in a GTFS feed, so the field name is the evidence.
