# ISO 3166-2 subdivision code without the country code (`iso3166code_part`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Subdivision part of an ISO 3166-2 code stored without the country code and the hyphen, one to three letters or digits such as VIC for Victoria or MOW for Moscow. The country is in another field of the same record. ROR records (schema v2, field locations.geonames_details.country_subdivision_code) and many address tables store regions this way. Short codes like these cannot be told apart by their value, so the record has no regexp and is recognized by the field name.

- Pattern of: `iso3166code`
- Personal data (PII): no
- Categories: Geographic identifiers (geo)
- Countries: global
- Languages: Common to most languages (common)
- Classification: categorical

## Examples

- `VIC` — Victoria, with country code AU in another field
- `MOW` — Moscow, with country code RU in another field
- `IDF` — Île-de-France, with country code FR in another field
- `11` — Tirana County, with country code AL in another field

## Translations

- ru: Код субъекта ISO 3166-2 без кода страны: Часть кода ISO 3166-2 после дефиса, например VIC или MOW; код страны хранится в другом поле.
