Codice identificativo di gara (CIG), the 10-character code that the national anti-corruption authority (ANAC) gives to a public contract awarded after a tender or by another procedure of the public contracts code. It is quoted on payments and electronic invoices and in the open data of ANAC. The SIOPE+ rules of the Banca d'Italia accept three forms, all made of digits and the letters A to F after the first character: the ordinary CIG of seven digits and three characters, the smart CIG for small contracts, which starts with a letter from V to Z, and the single format that replaces both, which starts with a letter from A to U.
