For a VAT-registered operator it is IT followed by the partita IVA (it_iva). The Italian Trade Agency says that private persons get IT followed by the fiscal code; other guides add that only its first 15 characters are used, so that the number keeps to the 17 characters of an EORI. The regexp accepts both forms.",
