Maisha Namba, the lifelong 9-digit unique personal identifier that the National Registration Bureau of Kenya has issued since October 2023, also at birth, and that serves as the ID number of new registrants. Holders of second-generation identity cards keep their old ID number, which is often shorter, as their identifier; the regexp covers only the 9-digit Maisha Namba.
