# Open Contracting ID (OCDS ocid) (`ocds_ocid`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Identifier of a contracting process in the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS). It joins a publisher prefix and the publisher's own identifier of the process. The prefix is "ocds-" followed by six random lowercase letters or digits assigned to the publisher; the local part has no fixed format. The ocid is case-sensitive and links all releases about one procurement process.
