# Philippine taxpayer identification number (TIN) (`ph_tin`)

> **Draft.** Draft records have not been reviewed yet and may be incomplete or wrong; do not treat them as authoritative for legal or compliance decisions.

Taxpayer Identification Number issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue to individuals and businesses in the Philippines. The TIN proper has nine digits, written as three groups of three. A branch code may follow it; the head office uses zeros. Revenue Regulations 11-2008 describe a 9 to 13 digit code with a 4-digit branch code, older rules a 3-digit one, and newer forms show 5 digits.
