Code of a specialty, field of study or group of them in Russian education. The lists of specialties and the federal educational standards use three pairs of digits: the enlarged group, the level of education and the number, for example 40.03.01 Jurisprudence (bachelor), 40.04.01 Jurisprudence (master) and 31.08.01 Obstetrics and gynaecology (residency). Enlarged groups end in .00.00. The All-Russian classifier of specialties by education (OKSO) writes the same code after a digit of the area of education: 5.40.03.01. Older six-digit codes are not covered. Scientific specialty codes of the 2009 nomenclature have the same three-pair form.
