Numeric identifier of a geographic area in US Census Bureau data. It joins the codes of the areas it nests in, so its length shows the level - 2 digits for a state, 5 for a county, 7 for a place, 10 for a county subdivision, 11 for a census tract, 12 for a block group and 15 for a block. Some blocks have a one-letter suffix. ZCTA and CBSA codes are also 5 digits. A fully qualified form with a summary level prefix is a separate pattern (us_census_geoid_fq).
