World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA) site ID

Number that UNEP-WCMC gives to a protected area or other effective area-based conservation measure (OECM) when it first enters the World Database on Protected Areas, now called the World Database on Protected and Conserved Areas (WDPCA). It identifies one designation, so a national park that is also a World Heritage site has two ids, and an id is not reused after its site is removed. The field was WDPAID until November 2025 and is now SITE_ID; zones of one site share it and are told apart by the parcel id SITE_PID (the site id, an underscore and a number, formerly a letter). A bare number: recognize it only with column context.
