# WIPO Madrid international trademark registration number (`wipo_madrid_registration_number`)

Sequential number that the International Bureau of WIPO gives to a mark registered under the Madrid System; current numbers have seven digits. When part of a registration is assigned to a new holder, that part keeps the number followed by a capital letter. The Gazette prints numbers with spaces, and old registrations have fewer digits; the regexp covers the compact six- and seven-digit forms only, so it is weak without column context.
