32-bit identifier of AMPS and CDMA mobile devices, replaced by the MEID (meid). It is written as 8 hexadecimal digits or as an 11-digit decimal number, in which the first three digits encode the first eight bits (000 to 255) and the other eight digits the remaining 24 bits. The prefix 80 in hexadecimal (128 in decimal) marks a pseudo-ESN derived from an MEID, which is not guaranteed to be unique.
