Geohash, a geocode invented by Gustavo Niemeyer in 2008. It interleaves the bits of longitude and latitude and writes them in a base-32 alphabet of digits and lowercase letters without a, i, l and o. Each added character makes the rectangle smaller, and codes with a common prefix are usually close to each other. The regexp allows 1 to 12 characters, the precision range of common implementations such as Elasticsearch; short values look like ordinary words and numbers.
