Three-digit code with which an HTTP server reports the result of a request. The first digit gives the class: 1xx informational, 2xx successful, 3xx redirection, 4xx client error and 5xx server error, and all valid codes are between 100 and 599. Examples are 200 (OK), 301 (Moved Permanently), 404 (Not Found) and 500 (Internal Server Error). RFC 9110 defines the codes, and IANA keeps their registry. Web server logs and API monitoring data store them.
