Diagnosis code in ICD-10-GM, the German modification of ICD-10 that the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) publishes every year. Hospitals and doctors use it for billing and statistics. A code is a letter, two digits and, after a dot, up to two more digits, as in E11.90. Chapter U holds codes for special purposes, such as U07.1 for COVID-19.
