Name of one of the eight traditional regions of Japan that group the prefectures: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai (Kinki), Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu with Okinawa. It is written in Japanese, with or without 地方 (region), or in English.
