Code of the Standaard Bedrijfsindeling (SBI), the classification of economic activities of Statistics Netherlands (CBS), which the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) also uses to record the activities of businesses. Sections are letters; divisions, groups, classes and subclasses have two to five digits, which CBS writes with dots, as in 62.10.0. The first two digits follow the UN ISIC classification and the first four NACE (eu_nace), with a few exceptions; the fifth digit adds Dutch subclasses. SBI 2025 follows NACE Rev. 2.1 and gives four-digit classes without a subclass a fifth digit 0. KVK uses SBI 2025 since 6 September 2025, and CBS moves its statistics to it from 2026; the older SBI 2008 codes stay in many data sets.
