Oracle Analytics Desktop is a desktop application for preparing, exploring and visualizing data. When a dataset is created, it profiles each column and detects its semantic type, either from value patterns (dates, US Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, email addresses, North American phone numbers, US addresses) or from the reference data shipped with the product (names and codes of countries and states, county and city names, ZIP codes). It also recognizes first-name and last-name columns. The detected types drive its recommendations to enrich, split, concatenate, mask or delete columns. A column gets a type when at least 85% of its values match it.
