Postal code of Kazakhstan. The rules on postal codes approved by order No. 66 of the Minister of Information and Communications of 29 July 2016 give each building its own seven-character code: a Latin letter for the region or city of republican significance, two digits for the district, then a letter, a digit, a letter and a digit for the building. The older six-digit codes of post offices, such as 010000 for Astana, remain in wide use, and both forms appear in addresses.
