ID mac_address

DatatypePersonal data (PII)identifier

48-bit hardware address (EUI-48) of a network interface in Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other IEEE 802 networks, used to deliver frames within one network segment. The first three octets usually hold the OUI of the manufacturer; the second-lowest bit of the first octet marks a locally administered address, such as the random addresses that phones use on Wi-Fi. It is written as six pairs of hexadecimal digits separated by hyphens (IEEE style) or colons, or as three groups of four digits separated by dots (Cisco style). RFC 9542 reserves 00-00-5E-00-53-00 to 00-00-5E-00-53-FF for documentation. 64-bit identifiers are described by eui64.
