Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) written as a GS1 element string with Application Identifier (00): '00' followed by the 18 digits of the SSCC. The SSCC identifies one logistic unit, such as a pallet or a parcel, for its whole journey through the supply chain; it is an extension digit, a GS1 Company Prefix, a serial reference and a GS1 check digit. It is usually printed in a GS1-128 barcode on the logistic label or stored in an RFID tag.
